Before Treatment

  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol for at least 24 hours—they can increase skin sensitivity.

  • Stay well hydrated and get plenty of rest.

  • Do not tweeze, wax, or thread the area for at least 2 weeks—this removes the hair root, which is needed for treatment.

  • Avoid shaving for at least 2–3 days before your appointment so there’s enough visible hair to treat.

  • Gently cleanse the skin and avoid applying makeup, lotions, or oils to the treatment area.

  • If needed, a mild pain reliever (like Tylenol) can be taken 30 minutes prior to reduce discomfort.

After Treatment

  • Apply a soothing product such as witch hazel or aloe vera to calm the skin.

  • Avoid touching, picking, or rubbing the treated area.

  • Keep the area clean and dry for the rest of the day.

  • Avoid sun exposure, sweating, and heat (like saunas or hot showers) for at least 24 hours.

  • Do not apply makeup to the treated area for at least 24 hours to prevent irritation or infection. If your skin still feels sensitive, it’s best to wait up to 48 hours before applying any cosmetics.

  • Skip exfoliants and active skincare products (like retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, or vitamin C) for 48 hours.

  • Cleanse the treated area gently with mild, fragrance-free soap and cool or lukewarm water. Use clean hands—avoid washcloths or scrubbing.

Expected Reactions

It’s completely normal to experience some mild side effects after treatment, including:

  • Redness or pinkness in the treated area

  • Slight swelling or a sunburn-like sensation

  • Tiny scabs or white bumps (these should heal on their own—do not pick)

  • Temporary dryness or sensitivity

These reactions should fade within a few hours to a couple of days.
